Britain is renowned for being the land of fish and chips, red phone boxes and bad bath. Oh, and bad weather. Well, not the week we've just had. Scorching temperatures day after culminated in the mercury hitting 34.5 degrees Celsius (94 degrees Farenheit for those still working in old money) last Thursday. Phew! It's enough to make you want to reach for a lovely cold cider. Not that cider can/should be drunk only when it's hot, but sometimes it refreshes the parts that other drinks can't reach.
